DiggFacebookLinkedIn MySpace PrintAAAThe La Reina High girls’ volleyball team had its sensational season come to an end on Tuesday night, losing at Elsinore 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) in the CIF-Southern Section Division II-A semifinals.
Madeline Rumer had six kills and 10 digs to lead the Regents, which finished 23-5. Sara Anselmo had five kills and 10 digs, Katty Workman had eight kills and nine digs and Kristin Wendell finished with 24 assists and three aces.
An experienced Elsinore (29-2) simply outlasted a La Reina team that will have 11 of its 16 players back next season.
“I felt good about the way we came on strong” as the season progressed, La Reina coach Don Hyatt said.

Moorpark: Rachel Olink had 11 kills, three blocks and six aces. Shakila Balkhi added five kills and a block. Sara Justin had two blocks.
